The Australians began t'ho eighteenth match of the tour against Laura- j shire at Liverpool to-day. At stumps the Australians were out for 183, and the county had 126 up for three wickets. The weather was warm, and the difficult. The attendance numbered 4000. Hornby won the toss, and sen*- the visitors in. Kelleway and Jennings opened to Dean and Huddlestone. An unfortunate start was made, Kelleway, with the score at 7, sicking Dean to J. Tyldesley in tho slips. —One for 7. Macartney was next, and he and Jennings raised the score to 42,' when the former, playing back to Huddlestone, was clean fowled. He had nut played with his usual certainty, Jennings, who was caught by Hornby, off Dean, got 30 runs in 65 minutes. The bright spofc in the. innings the partnership of Bardsloy and Prog-, ory. Tho pair added 79 for the fourth, wicket. Bardsley, who was often beaten, gave a chance at 19, but he made several good pulls. Gregory hit up 58 in 100 minutes, by good all-vound play .
