The B team lacked the com'bitintion cf their opponents', owi.ng no doubt to the fact that sever.il of the players were, not in their usual placce. In the first spoil Bougkß, Reid and Fit'hcr -scored for the A team, tlie spell e'nding A 3 goa:s, B nil. In the second epc-11 It. Williams, of the B team, replaced It. Hatch i-n. the A team, and Morgan changed places with Clarke. The- change in, the former instance had a, good effect, and strcngtheined the A forwards. The B team played up better in the second spell,'and on several occasions looked like scoring, bulb faulty shooting destroyed tlie opportunities. Play was, however, mostly confined to B'<s twenty-five, Fisher, Douglas and Williams taking part in several oretty passing -rushes. Uoals were t'jored by E. Douglas and Tunnichfre, the game endiimg in favour of l ;he A team by 5 goals to nil. Messrs Reason and Smith were referees.
JUNIOR. EXCELSIOR (7) v. ST. MATTHEW'S (2). I 'Excelsior cawly defeased St. Matthew's after a very ordinary game. ,Neii;ther .side displayed much ec;mbinutioii, but what there was favoured Excelsior, whose forwards were a good deal faster than their opponents. The game ended in favour of Excelsior by 7 goals to 2. For the former, onls were scored by Vile, Morris, Tociby (2), Ward (2), and Jones (1). For St. Matthew's, Billington and Jones wCr* the scorers. Mr W. C. Ory&tall refereed.
