RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION
AND LARGE ESTATES

WELLINGTON, Last Night
The Minister of Public Works stated, in answer to a question in the House of Representatives this afternoon, that the Government approves of the principle of purchasing estates in advance of railway construction, and'of securing to the Dominion the advantage of afterwards opening the country by railway.
