I lnve received word'that the. "Wellington Soekty <i Fir.; 3 Arts will lend us pictures. It is hoped that wo will get yufiicinit to establish a distinctive art gallery during the Competitions without arranging for private lending. We; have obtained from tho Trust- Lands Trustees a most suitable room in the new (building for the Art Gallery. Mr Fo.nton has consented to go to Wellington to take charge, of the pictures. s » RE DREADNOUGHT. I'lnve' received word from Mr G. R. Sykes, M.P., that the Dreadnought picture will not he lent, the Minister toeing afraid of establishing a precedent. Mr Sykes has been nu«b indefatigable in his efforts.' to obtain this picture, amd the Arts Committee desire to express its appreciation of his efforts. It has (been suggested to the Wellington Society of Eine Arts that they might arrange to hivo the picture lent to them with authority to send it on, with their pictures.
