SPLIT IN THE CL<M PARTY
MB BRYAN INTRIGUING.
(Received Last Night, 11.15 o'clock.) BALTIMORE, July 1.
Mr Champ Clark's arrival to confer with his supporters lias resulted in a split in the- Clark party over the propriety, in his own interests, of the candidate addressing the Convention. Mr Champ Clark said he had come to demand that Mr Bryan prove or retract his outrageous aspersions. lie had not come to plead for nomination. Mr Bryan ohiects to the votes of 91 of the New York delegates, which wore cast under the unit rule, and desires individual polling.
Mr Bryan is charged with scheming to make Mr Champ Clark's nomination impossible. Many expect that when Dr. Woodrow Wilson is convinced that he cannot succeed, he will give his votes to M- Bryan.
