The attendance numbered 6000. Play commenced at the bowling being in charge of Emery and Hazlitt. " Woolley filled the vacancy when Warner was disposed of. Fry took his score to 41 by weak, defensive play, and Woolley scored eight in 20 minutes. When the score stood at 4 for 241 rain stopped play.
