RESOLUTIONS PASSED. ' WELLINGTON, Last Night. A public meeting was held to-night in connection with, the No-License Convention. Speeches werfe delivered by the Mayor (Mr D. McLaren), Hon. G. Fowlds, Rev. F. W. Chatterton (Gislborne), and Mr A. S. Malcolm (M.P. for Clutha). A-resolution was passed protesting against newspapers publishing articles which were really inserted as advertisements; prior to the last Licensing Poll, and asserting that "Trade" or temoerance advertisements should he clearly inserted as such. It was also decided to call on all sympathisers to -refuse to support candidates for Parliament who will not pledge themselves to try to remove the three-<fifths handicap.
