She was born in Yorkshire 76 years . ago, and came out to .New Zealand when she 'was only four years of a&e, with her aunt. ' We -regret to record the death.' 1 at the'early age of. 23 years, of Mr Henry M. Gordon. whieh„sad event pcplurred at half-past five o'clock last evening, . I *>t the ' ""iidsnce of bis .pare-nts. South i Road, Masterton. The deceased was of ,a narticularly cheerful and biioyant disposition, possessing' one of those sunny natures whose chief; sion seemed 'to be to dissipate the > drooping spirits of all with whom he came in contact. The late Mr, Gordon was employed for some years in the officio of Messrs Rollings and Pragnell,' solicitors, of this town. He was theyoungest son of Mr and 'Mrs P. Gordon, well-known and 'respected resid-v ents of this district.. Mr J. V. Gordon, of Masterton, chemist-, and Mr M. J. Gordon, of Rata Hills, 'are brothers of deceased, whilst another brother (Mr P. Gordon, iunr.) is at present in Glasgow, Scotlerd, st.udyr ir>£ for a medical degree. The deceased, v/ho suffered for many months from that dread malady—consumption, bore his sufferings with great fortitude, and throughout them all never ,seemed "co lose his bright and hapipy disposition. We extend our sincere sympathy to all the bereaved relatives'and friends left, to mourn their loss. The funeral will leave the. , residence of the deceased's parents at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon.
