Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening issued the following report:— The -baa'cmeter bus risc?n high everywhere except at East Cape, where a cyclonic disturbance has apparently passed to seaward. Southerly win.';;;:, strong to gale, have been, experienced, with ccld asd 'stormy weather generally. Present indications are for cold 'and changeable weather, with /strong south-eastedy winds veering to easterly northward of Cook S; tea-its, and westerlies -backing to increasing nc-r----therlies c-J-sewhere.. live 'barometer will pirolsalbly, con turns -to rise- .for a few hours in t'hb North, and -especially -about -EJ.'.i&t Cape., 'but 1a decreasing pressure is to be expected everywhere soon, with :a ib-nicif improvement only in the weather conditions.
