THREE APPOINTMENTS MADE. 'The Minister has called the Hon. T. Y. Duncan (for many years mem/ber for Oamia.ru), Sir W. J. Steward (over thinty years representative for Waifaki), and Mr T. Parata (for a score cf years representative of the Southern' Maori coii'stituency), to the Legislative Council. The Hon. T. Y. Duncan, and the Hc-u. T. Parata •are each seventy-five years of ago, and (the Hon. Sir W. J. Steward is seventy-one.
