DEADLY BOWLING. SOMERSET DISPOSED OF FOR 59. (United Preis Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.J (Received June 21,10.55 a.m.) LONDON, June 20 The weather was showery and the wicket was wet when the Australians commenced their match against Somerset. , Daniell won the toss, and srnt his team in to bat. The batsman were unable to cope with Minnett and Matthews, who were not changed. Bisgood was the only man to reach double figures. Braund and Daniell were caught by Webster standing back behind the wicket. Somerset was dismissed before lunch. Minnett took two wicKets in the first over, and at 15 repeated the performance. Daniell, Robson, and Sutton were'dismissed in the sixth over for two runs. In the Australians' innings Macartney was sixty minutes at the wickets, and played a faultless innings. The century took 85 minutes, and the innings las'ted 155 minutes. Robson obtained a fine average. Of his seven wickets only one was bowled. Emery and Minnett opened _ the bowling for Somerset's second innings, and Daniell and Hardy played out time. Following are the scores: — SOMERSET—First Innings.
