AUSTRALIAN DINNER IN LONDON SIR GEORGE REID'S PLEA. (Received June 21, 1 p.m.) LONDON, June 20. Sir George Rcid, -High Commissioner for Australia, presided at the Australasian dinner at the Trocadero. . Sir George proposed the toast of "British-Australasian Trade." In, his speech she pleaded strongly for an extension of inter-Imperial trade, and pointed out that there was a growing desire in European countries to relax the restrictions at present interfering with the expansion of Australian and New Zealand trade with the world. The toast was responded to by Mr Philp, of Queensland, and Sir Montague Nelson.
