The notion brought by Archbishop Clark against John Norton, proprietor of the newspaper "Truth," for alleged libel, has been settled. The Judge, on taking his seat, announced that the jury would be discharged until to-inormv. Subsequently counsel for the defendant stated that, after hearing the evidence for the plaintiff, the defendant was satisfied that the article complained of was unjustified:, and he desired to apologise and withdraw it. By consent there would be a verdict for £IOOO damages, with costs, including the cost of the commission to England, for the plaintiff. was entered accordingly.
