A surprise was in store fo'r hockey en'thusiast's aJfc Carterton, where Excelsior came to grief, and .suffered a defoat by n much stronger team, which oufcfclaased them throughout. At M;vstertou, Feather ston seniors put up a creditable display against P. and T., itho leaded M* ; ftio .championship. •and are' to be congratulated on rho narrow margin cif their defeat.
