FIRST ANKUAI. REPORT. ' Following is" the 'report to, be pre©anted to the first annual. meeting of the New Zedai:d : Sheep-breeders' "Association: —'..-.'. -.-•': '. "Your Coumibil beg to submit herewith the balance &heet for the financial year ending December 31st, I*9ll, and desire to congratulate the memibers on the result attained diuring the first year'© operations of the Association. There are .recorded in. this.,. the first year of its,existence -(oesides other applications befpro the Council) ,91 flocks registered by this Association, and coraiprisiing 14,476 ewes and 11,474 ewe and ram lambs. Owing to unavoidable circuimistances., '.which will not again, occur, the issuing Of ..Volume Iv has been' somewhat delayed. However, it is hoped to have the same im the hands of,members in' the course of the next two weeks. In order to bring the Lincoln prominently before the public, and, to :&nicou(raige the breeding of-'the best types-.of this i ayourite 'longwool sheep, .your Council are considering the desirability of offering ~ championship shield©, for. competition at the various leadinig Kihbws throughout the Dom'inion. By so doing, it' is confidently 'anticipated that Keen competition •among the breeders wi! be arouspd, and .mluch good will rebuilt therefrom. The following.members retire from ithe Council this yeah 1 : Messrs A, Orawford, ©. iKirkpatrick, and D. <junT.., all of whom are 'eligible for reflection.— W. PEPJRY, President."
