AN IMPORTANT ROAD.
Tlie proposal made ax a meeting of East Coast settlers, that the Mas-terton-W aim at a road he oontinlued! to Mataikona, is cf considerable importance, and it js 'hoped that the Ca&tlepohit County Council will view it. favourably. If this road were completed, it would leave a gap of oniiy gix miles of unformed road between Mataikona and the Aohanga landingnshed, the completion of which hj Ahe Akirtio Council would establish a through motor route firom Mas-ter-ton to 'Napier, joining the inland route at Wa£pukiurau. It .would also make the Akitio timiber mills accessible to Castlepoint 'residents.
