VALUATION OF IMPROVEMENTS
The Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, Minfeter iii 'charge of the Valuation Department, has discovered that .great discontent exists in flhe ■ country districts at the '.manner in which valuations are made. He is impressed with the fact that .sufficient- allowance cig niqt made fen- improvements, and he has promised to bring down legislation dealing with the matter. The Farmers' Union has heeiJ hammering alt this question for years,, but without .result. It is .satisfactory to find, therefore, -that Mr MacDotiald . recognises 'the injustice of the present system, and is prepared to make amends. Whether the exigencies of paiity polities w ; i?l permit''him to .carry through Hs (proposed amendment as, lof course, quite another matter.
