A writer signing himself "Merchant!!," in a letter to the Otago Daily Times, says:— "Commercial travellers say they cannot s?ll anything or very little to a company doing hueimess in a eouithera. 'town hcrause all ipwrchases for itliat company aire lnade through Ith© firm of iFaidbairn Wright and C'o. It is further stated 'by travellers that the- company dm question! is owmed by the Hon. Thos-. (Mackenzie, so [that ■(business relations exist beween him and the' firm of Fairhairn., Wright and Co., arid-that is why Mr Fairhairn •was appointed a member of the Comr•mission. Can these statements ho #ile? Jif'so, is it any ■wondttr if the Cbmimissioiii should not he taken seriously?"
