HIG-H COMMISSIONER'S REPORT The Depai'tment of Agriculture, Commerce, and Tourists has received the following cablegram from High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated London, June 15th, 1912. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot):— General.—The strike is subsiding; many men are returning to work. Busihess is apparently improving. . Mutton. The is steady. Canterbury, 4|d per lb; North Island, 4d per lb. : Lamib.—The market is firm, 4 but expect prices will decline when larger supplies become available.' Canterbury Gfd per lb; other than Canterbury, 6Jd. '' • a Beef.—The market is quiet, the supply exceeds the demand. New, Zealand hinds 4sd per Mi; fores, 3jSa., Butter market is quret, but steady. New, Zealand holders are firm. Choicest New Zealand, ,115s per cwt; Australian 108s; Danish, 121s; Siberian., 108s. _ ■ 'i iyr--''.. Cheese.—The market is firm, but demand only moderate. New Zealand coloured. 74-s per cwt : white, 72s 6d. ■ Wool.—The market prospects are favourable. There is general confidence in the maintenance of present prices.
