A NARROW ESCAPE
FOR THE PRIME MINISTER. SENT REELING BACKWARDS. (By Telegraph — Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. The Premier (Hon. T. Mackenzie) arrived this morning, and went for a 'Bulk on the wharves with the Con- ! ciliation.' Commissioner. He. was unaware of the fact that he had got within range of discharging operations on the Zealandic. An officer called out, but was not heard, and a descending sling just missed "Mr Mackenzie by inches. As it was, the Premier's burley frame was sent reeling backwards as a result of the sling (full of sacks of produce) striking him on the shoulder. His hat was knocked off, J and he had a very narrow escape. I
