MASTERTON TRUST LANDS TRUST
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the .Trust Lunds Trust was held in the Tlrust office last evening, there being present,— Messrs- W, H, Jackson, v o'. E. Daniel;),, T. B. MicMT, D. Caselberg, 0. N. O. Pragnell, H. O. Robinson, J. Pauling, T. Wagg and R. Krahagen. On 'the motion of Ma* iC. E-. Daniel!, seconded by Mr D. Caselberg, Mr R- Krahagen. was elected chairman. Mr Krahagen briefily thanked the Trustees for the honour conferred upon him. Mr W. Giillespiei, secretary of the Ma-sterton Competitions Sodety, ' wrote appealing for assistance on behailf of the Society.. On the motion of Mr Pragnell, it wi.is decided to refer rthe matter to the finance committee for ecuiiSiideration when the estimates are- being drawn up. ' 'Mr A. R. Bunny wrote in reference 'to the voting area of Trust voters.-p-Received. ; In reference to the lease of Trustlands held by Mr Martin Kermis, it was decided to leave the matter, jin the hands of leasing comimifctte, a report to be brought down at next meeting. , f .The secretary of the Maeterton Municipal Braes Band wrote, applying for a grant towards the upkeep of the Band.— It was decided to refer the m<rfcter to the finance, committee, for consideration when the estimates coma up. The chairman cf the Larjsdowne School :Com.mittee wrote asking for a grant in' connection with agricultural classes at the Lansdcwrie School.Left to the fint.wi.ee committee for consideration. The secretary of the Masterton Amateur Theatrical Society itvtro|te applying for dates .for the cf "H.M.S. Picfetfore" 'in 1 tlio Town' Hail.- The chairmian explained that one of' ih& dlates .(Thursday) was reserved for the entertainments, of the Masterton, Picture Company. ; Mr Robinson'did not think that ; a Jocal Society sfcbuld be debarred from the use of the Town Hall for the holding of a local e<.tertainmeaiifc. Tbas'e interested in the production 'of these amateur pliays went to a great deal of trouble and expense, and their ■3 : ppl:cat'ioßi should ( be fully considered. ; Mr MSchell stated .that under the ierosting agreememit .with the Masterton iPicture 'Company, Thursday was reserved for the entertainments of the Company. The chairman said that it was the dujty of the Trust to do all in; their power to make t'he ilWn Hall a .pqyI ang concern. He thought, however, that arrangements could be made with the.'manager cf the Picture Comvpan.y. ': It iwa's decided, oil the motion cf •Mr iO. E. Dan Mil,. that the miatter be ktft to the Town Hail! ' ' The reports of the Town Hall and iDuLlding Committees were read and adopted. : It was decided ■thhfc alii committees remain as .before, Mr Robinson; to replace Mr E:. G. Eton on' the finance committee. : The finance committee were authorised to draw up the estimates for the year. Accounts' amounting to £177 17s 2d were passed for payment.
