WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

CONCERT AT THE TOWN HALL.

The Mastterton Town Hall was well tilled las-t evening, when the Wairarapa Caledonian Society held the first of their series of winter concerts. That these concerts are to become an institution An Maefterfeon was evidenced by the attendance last evening, and the enthusiastic reception recei- > ved by these who contributed to the evening's programme. The feature of the eon cert was the dancing of the / Paulin'g children, while the selections of the. Society's tripe Band were splendidly received, and giving to the entertainment a pronounced Galedoniiui atmosphere. Miss Nellie Hogg's interpretation of the recitation, "Home, Sw«et Homie" was of a very high, quality, and merited the, aippilause .with iwhich it vr,a& received. Miss Twohill sang the popular song, "Tit for T'at" in good voice, and Messrs Hallll arid Green, who are two of Masterton's most popular artists, gave excellent renderings,, and received quajte an ovation. The various other items were excellently received. The programme as a whole is deslerving of the-highest praise, and | the Caledonian Society are to be con- i grattuilated on piroouirilng the services of-/such, talenited Vilfcists. Most of .the credit for the. unqualified sflMoess of the concert rests with Mr ,W. GiHeapie, the energetic secretary of 1 the {society, <Mr J. Geargeeoni presided,- and at the conclusion of the, evening's entertainment thanked thosie who bo ably contributed to the evening's enjoyment, .and also the large audience for , their attendance.
