WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, tibia evening issued tihe Mowing report:— Southerly winds prevailed, and increased strong to gale on Saturday evening, especially on the 1 eastern coa,&t, with cold 'weather and heaey showers. The 'barometer rose to 30.5 inches in the South, amd was high everywhere. A slight decrease in. pres•spre is ishowii to-day at the Bluff and' East Oaipe, and 1 a isouth-eas'terly gale, with heavy seas, are reported stiljl at the East Cape. Present indications are for squally conditions .about, the Euist 'Oap.e, and showery on. the east coast of the North Island Faiir to cloudy •weather is probable elsewhere. The ibairortfielter is .unsteady, but a tempor'iwy irise is likely to precede a decided fall after from 24 to i 36 hours/ and Snoderate to strong isouth-easteriy grinds, veering to easterly, northward of 'Farewell Spit and Kaikour'a,, and southerly windis backing to westerly tedse where.
