The picture offers a moral lesson, depicting the effect of alcohol and the degradation and ruin •which are the inevitable results of too Tree a use cf spirits. The effect of •the drama is striking, and one reahV es that what is presented on the screen is what as happening in all parts of the world at the present day. It •is a film of present day significance, dealing with itlie lifie< of the present •age, which drives the force of the diru<ma' home "with teMing effect, ". "The 'Altered Message" as a magnificent military drama, in which ibeautifvi teafcies ,aind thrilling episodes are represented. As a picture portraying •military Life on the Mexican borders the picture is par excellence, while the /love vein which is interwoven inHihe drama adds to its "Tern Nights N in a dßar Room" and "The Ailtiered are sufficient to satisfy the wants of most picture lovers, hut these stars are supported by a series of dramas, scendes, ■and comic pictures from the leading •com.pa.nies of the old world, that go to iimaike up a programme that will be difficult to equal iin any part of the i Dominion.
