The birds were first iroade accustomed to the ■whirr of the propellers, the splutter of tihe imotore, and to rifle fire. By .placing ifood eta the tlop and sides of ithe' model aeroplane in use the experimenters then, found that the eagles no soone.r sighted a machine so baited when they swooped down and attacked it with, great fierceness. The officers who are making these iremarkU'ble experiments ihav© not yet concluded',their work, 'but the results so far achieved 1 have been so much •beydnd their expectations . that they have .been instructed to continue their tests.
