PALMER&TON N„ Last: Night
There was a fair attendance'at the meeting pf-the Flaxmill; Workers' Union here on Saturday; to consider a levy of ten per cent, for "the* Waihi and Keerfcon -strikers.. . Considerable different*© of"-opimon'.was expressed, and there was a» tendency ip regard the Federation of Labour as forgetting that there were others than miners iiii ifc. The 'levy had already been •made by the Federation qn : all affiliated bodies, without (reference' to •them. A considerable number at the •meeting had little sympathy with the •Waihi strike, hut'wore better disposed ■towards" the Beeftbh \strikeiV?,cause. As no decision, could be coin© to at 'the meeting .concerning a levy, it was "decided to take a ballot 'of ' Union 'members on "the subject. ''' '■ "'
