Senior Cadet Brunton, of -Masterton, lias been selected as one o fthe twenty cadets to be sent from ]Sew Zealand to Canada. Mr Joseph Blascheck, the wellknown English humorist and elocutionist, is to visit Masterton this month. Mr T. M. Wilford, M.P., readied Auckland on Wednesday, but declined to be interviewed excepting in regiard to his health, which is much improved. Mr B. G. Signal, of the Rangitilsjei , -County Counoil, has been appointed <clerk to the Wairoa Council. Mrs Donald left Masterton yesterday for Sydney, accompanied by Mbs Cower. Mr D. M. (Mcintosh/ late Secretary -of the Masterton Miniature Rifle Chib, was farewelled by the members of the Olub last night, on the eve of his departure for Hastings. Mr J. Murray, Captain, expressed the regret of the ■Club at losing the services of Mr Mcintosh. Has remarks were endorsed ]yy several members, and cheers wem given for the departing member. Mr Mcintosh suitably replied to t'he kind remarks of the various members, and asked .'the Club's' acceptance of a trophy, to. go, to the winner of the Blighting Cup. (The trophy consisted of a handsome 'silver-mounted oak salad bowl.) At tho Nireaha Anglican Church on Wednesday, Miss L. Prugean, daughter of Mrs Prugcan. of Nireaha, "was married to Mr E. Williams, Taihape. The Prime Minister (Hon. T. Mackenzie) returns to Wellington from tho south this morning. The Hon. G. Lauren son left Wellington last might for the south, for the purpose of delivering addresses in Dunedin and other centres.
