THE REEFTON TROUBLE
EVERYTHING QUIET. (By Telegraph — Press Association.) REEFTON, Last Night. There are no further developments ire the mining trouble. It is understood tbe- question ,has been referred by' the Labour Department to the Crown Law Officers. Meanwhile, . things here are very quiot. / During the fortnight,/ and over, df the trouble, there has not been a single ca.se of drunkenness before the courts. •Matters are very quiet indeed. Men; have .gone out to work on the roads and" Government works, but the weather is very disagreeable, and will prevent outside work. • There aire .Still anumber of .married men at home here, unprovided with •work.
Beyond a slackness in. business, there is no sign of a labour trouble. A coursing meeting held yesterday •was well attended, in spite of th-a
rain. Local dances and functions are weM patronised. The other mines are working as usual.
