AN AUCKLAND REPORT. The Auckland Herald publishes tlie report of an alleged coalition schema, which, it is said, has been formulated by a prominent business .man in Wellington. The first step suggested is that the present Prime Minister should be appointed High Commissioner, and that the Hon. A. M. " Myers should succeed to the Prime Ministership. The return of Messis ' Russell and Ell to private membership as next proposed, and the fusion would be affected by the entrance to the Ministry of 'the Leader of the Opposition! and two .members of his party. The plan would be completed •by a gathering of the "middle" party behind this ministry, and the segregation of conservatives and extremists to the shades of Opposition. Mr Massey, on being questioned the other evening, said he would .agree to coalition.
