RAILWAY WORKSHOPS.
The new Minister of Railways is tackling, his work .with a spirit of independence and with an/ administrative capaoiity whidi auguirs well for the future o'f the railway system. The .pity is that circumstances, may rise which will compel! -his retirement from Ministerial -position at am tfarly date. In the meantime, if he could spare a few •hour® of his valuable time, it would -be twell if he were to investigate the l isystem u'wlfeir which appointments (have been made to the railway workshops of -the Dominion in the past. •There is a suspicion that these shops 'have (been made the dumping-ground for the friends of politicians cif the ".liglht colour," and that the D'ominr ion ha® not (been receiving anything like value -for the money expended! upon them- A lititle, investigation' would demonstrate Aether these suspicions •a.re„ or are not wellnfou'nded.
