The Minister-of Riailways made ait , announcement to-day regarding tihe proposed altera,fciom' in t'lie train seri vices on the Manawatu land WairaJ rapa lines. A new train will, lie said, be put on from Pa-J,merston .to connect 'with the team: leaving Woodville for "Wellington at 2,.15 p.m. A. train will leare Welilingitcn. at 4.45 a.m. as a goods' train fco Cross' Creek, thence as !a. mixed t-rWn to Woodviill©. This train will leave Clross' Creek at '8 a.m.; and Maisterton. at 10 a.m., and will conect witli the 'mail train from • Napier to .Wellington. This gives the cbfnnjection asked for 'from the Wairairapa district, with the express to Auckland. A tiiairi will leave Palmerstom North at 12.40 p.m., after the arrival, of: the express from AGckkody I taking passengers ifor the Wlairairapa las far as Cross' Creek. .This ttirain will i leave Wood-viUe- at i 2.15, and Master- ' ton ait 5.30 p&i. This will (ensure connection with the ,Welling-ton-Lyttelton ferry service,.
