'l'lie Strike. Committee is convening a special meeting of the Transport AVorkers' Federation for Saturday next, to arrange for a national strike.
The executive of the Scottish Dockers' Union protests against London bureaucrats issuing a. .mandate to stop work all over the country. It adds: "Wo will not stand it."
The executive of the Sailors and Firemen's Union has circularise'! branches denying that ;a. strike has been authorised outside London.

At the request of Mr McKenun, Home Secretary, a deputation of employers met at the Home Office to consider Sir Edward Clarke's award. The Port of London Authority has declined to participate in the conference to-morrow, which threatens to bo abortive.

At a further meeting on Monday, the Strike Committee adopted resolutions to seek the support of other Unions, including those of skilled workers, and trades connected with shipping, in order to vindicate the principles of Trade Unionists. They also protested against the action. of the mounted police in escorting convoys, and riding through the crowds, and decline to accept Responsibility for the peaceful conduct of the strike, should such matters continue. Tliey will summon tJi'e police, who as members of the working class will riois fact as the brutal instruments of the capitalists ckss. . .
