MASTERTON STOCK SALE.
Messrs James Macintosh' .and Co. report lhaviu-g held^fheir usual weekly sale hi.their Waipoua (Masterton) yards-'oii Wednesday, May 29th, when they offered a yarding well above advertised numbers, especially in the cattle entry. There was a very small entry of sheep, which met with a ready sale, and the who's yarding 'was sold. Quotations':—Forward- e«'e ; s, 10s 6d; cull-ewes, Gs 9d; 2s-year steers, £i> (is; ii-year steers. £4 os; fat cows, £5 7s; cows in calf (low condition), £3 lis to £-5; hulls, £3; steer calves, 89s; cows in nn'lk, £5 5s to £6 ss; springing loows, .£" lis to £B, 5«. •
Mevsrs.'Balgety'.iand Co., Ltd.,, report on t'lieir .iSolway sale as follows: —A medium entry of sheep met with, good competition, and realised satisfactory prices. Cattle came forward well up to advertised numbers, and with the exception of a few small pens and one line of'bullocks, we bad a good clearance. The special.entries offered ah account of Mr H. T. Hume, Ao.lianga. and Messrs Barton Bros., Mataiko,na, were all quitted at auction prices, which were good -throughout. Quotations:—Cattle: Empty store cows, £2 18s to £3 7s 6d; : forward, emptv cows, £4 to £4 los. On account of M.r H. T. Hume, forward speved heifers and cow.?. £4 !)s (3d to £4' 17s (the line of 130 averaging £4 12s 3d); 4-vear bullocks, £6 10s; forward bullocks, £6 los to £7 2s 6d. On account of Messrs Barton Bros., Maitakona. 56 polled angns empty torward cows realised £5; other linos of fat cows sold up to £5.
