SPEECH BY MR MASSEY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. Mr W. F. Massey, Leader of the Opposition, addressed a crowded meeting at iNgaruwahia to-night. He dsalt with the genera'] election and events that had taken place since then. After the resignation of Sir Joseph Ward, he said, a caucus had boon held, when a. different set of men were .chosen, who held different views. Up ;to the' present they had not faced Parliament, and Piairliament had had .no opportunity of expressing confidence in them. They had now beon in office some months, and it would ptiil-be some time belfore Pfarhanient■, would teve a chance of giving,an opinion on the matter.. This procedure was unconstitutional, and m _ the' m-Ski'ntime members of the Ministry •were peiraimbulating round the country making, promises to all' and sundry. No one who asked, went away without a, premise, which in all- probability Ministers would be ujnable toi carry out. 'He was of opinion that the 'time was not far distant when .there would be a change. Quite a nuimber of members who had supported the Government en the no-confi-dence mot-ion had announced their intention of suppbrtine: the -Reform Party, and he was firmly convinced 'that'ere long the party which would Relate .for the best interests cif the country would come into its own. Amongst the other speakers were Messrs F. M. B. Fisher, A. Young, and It. F. Bollard. M.P.'s. wdio all received warm receptions. Subsequently a banquet was held.
