A CITIZENS' LEAGUE.
An institution that is badly needed in Masterton is a Citizens' League. The ChaimlxM- of .Crainmeiice does good work so far ias its special functions will permit; ibnt .there aro many things affecting the community as a whole which do mot come under the purview of the .Ohamibe-r. A Citizens' League would be 'Comprehensive, and would give a lead ito (both the Boraigh Council and the Chamiber of Commerce. It would .make it impossible for o Borough Council election to go 'by default, and iwould take a live interest in all matt'Cirs .pertaining to civic progress. I» oit'lici" and more important centres these Leagues ihave ibeen formed, and have exercised a wholesome influence. 'Possibly iHls Worship the Mayor might he induced to take the initiative in forming a League in 'Masterton.
