-' Mr R. Brown' (reports the sale of 26 acirSs joFland on the South Road, Upper Manoia, SSasterton, on behalf of Messrs Juddl Bros. This property ihas (been bought by Messrs.!?. J. 'and, J. H. Murton and W. Cooper, and tlneir intention is to lay out the land an orchards. The buyers had inspected laud for fruit-growing in various • localities,,' and have found none better than the 'property selected. It .is their intention to plant and grow thetiroes on the -latest scientific! principles. They are going on for co-oper-aitive fruit growing, and will thus get over the labour difficulty. There are 'prospective 'buyers for sections adjoining, and if these are taken up it will mtfan the beginning of an important industry for Maisterton. This is a. matter tlie' M.asterton Chamber of Commerce has advocated for some Itime, and it is gratifying to-see that, this new industry is satisfactorily started. -The new firm has expert knowledge of fruit-growing, and arrangements can be made by others who take up band to secure expert 'help in laying out and planting orolitai els.
