ANNUAL DOG TRIALS.
T3ie annual dog trials in> connection with the iMaeterton OcQlte Olufo were concluded yesterday, on Mr Cameron's property, in fine weather, and in .the presence of a large number of settlers and others. At the conclusion; of .the- trials, (the Vice-President I (Mr Walter Cameron 1 ) thanked .the competitors (for their attendance and the interest they had taken an the various events. Mr W. O. Buchanan, M.P., also spoke, and congratulated the .CQub-uponi the progress it had taade. He commented upon the important part played in. the sheep industry by thie qualified ishepterd, and expressed ithe hope that next year the championship trials .would be held in' Mastarton, to be followed by a re- : union. Cheers were given for Mas-Birs ©uchanan, Cameron, the judge (Mr W. MoKeneie, c<f Porangahau), a<nti the ,Cammit6:e. .The results of yesterday's evenfts were a» (follows: CLASS IH. (Open)..
