SYDNEY, May 24. Rlam is inoeesant, and the soaking .spoiled the outdoor Empire brations. Ths^bulkof the schools held indoor demonstrations of the usual patriotic description.
ATng and enthusiastic gathering was present at the Royal Exchange, which %as apprtfpriatoly decorated, \ the cathedral choir providing patriotic anthems iand songs. The - feature' of the gathering were the speeches by Admiral King-Hall and Sir Joseph"Ward; The Admiral Said that the control of the sea highways was absolutely nec.osSary: if oiir pendence. No past Empire had &o exemplified a family relationship between the mother nation and a galaxy of young nations like it.
