A "DEMON" FOR WORK.
.Jtf.Wi C. -Buchanan, M.P., 'is, considering his ndvaii-ced years—lie is now well over the allotted .span—a "demon" for wof.k. The way in /which he gets about the country hj, to say the least, marvellous. Early this week he .was tduriug Canterbury in his motor 'car. 'On Wednesday he shipped for Wellington. On Thursday lie negotiated this Rimutaka in his car in a bitter (south-easter, in order to be present -at the ploughing match at Oa'teviile. The same evening he was enjoying himself and .making .speeches at a smoke concent until a late hour. Yesterday morning found him at the dog trials at .Masterton, again making •a-ispeech and .encouraging those who are engaged ' in pastoral pursuits. What'came of him in the -afternoon '-and'evening is hard to ray, but when
(last aeon by Masfcertoniaas he was traveltitfg -in -tic direction of the South a pace which would make a New Zealand express train shudder.' If ,it is mot old age a.motor accident that kills Mr (Buchanan, M.P., it certainly •will not he manimation.
