£50,000 FOR CHARITIES THE WIDOWS MUNIFICENCE. (Received Last Night, 0.20 o'clock.) SYDNEY, May 20. In the will of the late Mrs W. R. Hall, of Mount Morgan mine fame, I whose estate is valued at several milI lions. £50,000 was left to charities in New South Wales and Queensland. His widow, as residuary legatee, has now decided to devote the income fro-n f],000,000 to charities, half going L() New South "Wales, and »i quarter each to Queensland and Victoria. Trustees liave been appointed to .administer the gift. Charity is defined as the relief of poverty; (advancement of the Anglican religion, advancement of education and the general benefit of the community, with a. stipulation that one-half ji 'the*.income shall go to women and children.
