ANNUAL PLOUGHING MATCH. The annual ploughing match in 'connection, nvJtif the W'airarapa P. and A. Society was held on Mr A. J. Reynolds' property at Glaroville yesterday. Notwithstanding that the weather was cold and bleak, there was -a large attendance of farmers and oth(l'l's, and the greatest interest wais manifested in the work 'done by the ploughmen. Messrs C. J. Brogden and T. S. Cresswell (Masiterton) acted as judges of the ploughing, and Mr J. Maxwoll (Matahiwi )as judge of horses and harness. The'prizes awarded were as 'follows: — Double Furrow Ploughing (open).— P. H. Edwards (H. E. Edwards' team) 1 ; T. Gilpin (A. Donald's team) 2; E. Skoot (Skeet Bros.' team) 3. Double Furrow Plr.wgliii.ig for ytfutbs under 21 years.— C. J. Wilson (A. .Wilkinson's team) 1; A. Burt (Burt Bros.' .team) 2. Single Furrow Ploughing (open).— G. Galver senr. 1, -. On- 2. ' 'Tho prize for the hest finish in the .open double-furrow ploughing wais awarded to C. Op'ie. The Donald Estate toam .was awarded first prize for being the .best team in the open double-fur-row ploughing, for liorses showing most care 'a.rtd attention, and for best ■.mai'e or filly. C. 'McGuinness .secured -the prize as the ploughman longest in the prize as the ploughman, longest in ifor being the oldoit '/ploughman, and T. Liddy 'for having the best-kept harness.
