MASTERTON STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—AVe had a good yarding of sheep and a failentry of cattle. There was a large attendance of (buyers and competition was again strong for all classes. With tlhe exception of one pen, we sold every .line under the hammer at prices we] Tup to last week's rates:—2-tooth ewes in lamb brought up to 16s 7d; aged do, 10s to 10s 8d; fat and forward ewes, 12s sd; forward empty ewes, 10s 4d; small 2-tooth mixed sexes, ,13s 3d; good woolly iambs, fe 3d to lis Id; small do., 6s 3d to 8s; heifers, £4 75.; springing heifers, to £7 15s; empty cows, £3 to £3 10s.
Messrs Balgoty and Co., Ltd., report as follows:—A good yarding of sheep was offered to a ilargo attendance of 'buyers. Tho bulk of our entry consisted of medium to fat and forward wethers, for which there was a good demand, practically • all lines selling at auction prices in vendore' favour. Following is a list of prices realised :—. Aged empty ewes, 7s 3d to 8s lOd; forward empty ewes 10s 7d to lis 9d ; mixed woolly lambs,, to 10s 3d; medium 2-tooth wethers, lis Id to lis 3d; good ditto, 13s lOd, 14s 6d to 14s 8d; 4 and 6-tooth wethers (forward), los. Messrs James Macintosh and Co. report having hoM their usual weekly sale in. their Waipoua yards (Masterton) yesterday, when, they offered a fair yarding of both cattle and sheep well above advertised numbers, which met with fair competition and practically the whole yarding of sheep were sold under the hammer at prices up to late rates. Quotations:—Fat ewes, 13s lOd; forward'ewes, lis lOd; fat lambs, 8s 2d ; woolly lambs, 8s 6d; fair empty eaves, 8s; good ewes in lanub, lis 6d; shorn lambs, 7s 8d to 8s id; shorn b.f. lamibs, 6s 9d. Cattle :—lB-months steers, £3 2s; stags and bulls, £2 12s 6d; springing cows, £4 12s 6d; springing heifers, £6 10s; weaners 7s to 7s 6d; slips, to 10s 6d.
