RETIRED.CAPTAIN KILLED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night, A .fatal accident occurred m Beach Road to-niglit, when Heinry Alexander, a retired sea captain, aged 74 years, met 'his death through heing knocked down by a tram c:ir. Some little time ago Alexander fell off a tni.ni car, .rcceivinig' s:ueh injuries as nccsssitaited his detention in the hosipital, and this was liis first time out, ■He AArt-5 vea-v short-sighted, especially at dusk, and as he was cros isig the road ho failed to notice the approaching car, and .was knocked doAvn.
