LONDON MARKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltl., Wellington, have reeeivel a cable from their Lonlon Office, dated 16th inst., ad follows: —■ .• Frozen Meat. —Lamb : The market is very firm since our last cable, prices being $d per lb higher. Mutton: Prices are Jd higher for light weights. Other descriptions are unchanged, and the market is firm. Frozen Beef. —There is an improved demand at unchanged prices. Tallow : —The market is quiet. Prices are at times 6d per cwt. less. WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. TJio New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows : —There was a good attendance at this week's fortnightly sale, when large catalogues were submitted. Competition was firm for all descriptions at full rates. Only oddments of wool were offered, all bale lots of crutchings being 'held for a special crutching sale, to take place on the 31st inst. We quote:— Wool—ln bags and fadges: Crossbred fleece, stragglers, 6d to 8d; crutchings, to 5Jd; crutchings, seedv, 4d ; pieces and dead, 4d to locks, 2d to 3id. /Sheepskins:—'Crossbred fine, 7d to 7-£ d; medium 'and coarse, to 7£d ; half-wools, 6d to 63d; quarter-wools, 3|d to s£d; lambskins, s£d to 6*d, hoggets dead and damaged, 3£d to s|d. Hides.—Or, heavy, 7id to B£d; ox, medium and light, 63d to 7d; cow, 6£d to 7d; faulty hides, 4Jd to sld;. calf, sound, 10|d to 12-Jd; damaged, 2d to 6Jd.

Tallow, in casks, in shipping order, 27s 6d to 28s per cwt; in tins, 24s to 265; rough fat, 18s to 22s Gd.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows:—The usual fortnightly sale of wool, skins and hides was held to-day. Buyers were present in full force, and prices were •exceedingly firm at last sales rates. [VVe quote : Wool: —Only bag lots were offered, all wool in bales being held over for the crutchings sale on 31st May. next. Rough crossbred, 63d to 7d; dead wool, 7d; Ist pieces, skl; crutchings, inferior, sd; locks and pieces, -Id to Skins :—Coarse crossbred, 7d ; lambs 6Jd to 6Jd ; half-wools, mediunm, 6Jd ; coarse, J-wools, 5-Jd; Ist dead, s§d ; damaged, 3|d to 4§d ; butchers' skins, damp, heavy, 4s 6d to ss;'medium, 4s Id to 4s sd; light, 3s Gd.to 3a Sd; butchers' skins, salted, full woolled, 7s; half-woolled, 5s 2d; quarterwoolled, 3s 8d to 4s 5d ; shorn lambs, i 2s sd.

Hides: —These were in good demand notwithstanding the sloppy condition owing to the unfavourable weather. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., re- j port on their 'Cupper Hutt stock sale, J held on Thursday, the IGth Inst., as I follows:—We submitted a very full I yarding of both sheep and cattle to a I large attendance of -buyers, amongst > whom were representatives from the Wairarapa and Manawatu. Competition for sheep was very keen, and all lines changed hands, with the exception of 30 aged ewes. Several pens of fats were offered, and brought full market rates. The offeringof cattle was composed mostly of dairy, stock, and anything in full milk or close to drop was well sought after. , A line of cows in milk and springing heifers from a Hawera client sold well, the xjows bringing up to £ll 2s 6d, and the heifers up to £B. Young cattle were also in good demand. We quote : Sheep : F.m. ewes in lamb, lis 3d; fat and forward wethers, 14s; light fat wjethers, 13s lid to 14s; light fat ewes, 12s 8d; fat and forward lambs, 9s 3d; small woolly lambs, 7s 9d; cull lambs, 4s. Cattle :—Cows, just come to profit, £8 17s 6d to £ll 12s Gd; cows in milk, £5 to £7; cows close to calving, £ 7 7s 6d to £9 17s Gd ; spring calvers, £5 to £7 Is; heifers just calved, £7 10s to £8 17s 6d ; springing heifers, £5 to £8; 18-month heifers, £3 2s Gd; yearling heifers, £2 3s Gd; small mixed weaners, 12s Gd to 20s; fat. cows, £5 2s; store cows, £3; bulls, £1 15s to £2,
