SYDNEY, May 19.

Tbe bye-election for the Alexandria seat, caused by the deatt-h of Mr Dacey, resulted in the return of Mr Hickey, the Labour candidate, by a large majority.

(The result of the election docs not affect the state of parties in the New South Wales Parliament, the late Mr Dacey having been a Labourite.)
