LATE COMMERCIAL.
JOHNSONVILLE STOCK REPORT. (By Telegraph—Special to the Age.) JOHNSONYILLE, Last Night. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows on tiheir Johnson villo sale : —We offered a good yarding of sheep and cattle to a good attendance of buyers. Prices were as follows: —Prime heavy bullocks, £lO 2s 6d to £los 7s Gd; prime bullocks, £9 7s 6d to £9 12s (3d; lighter, £S 15s to £9 ; voders, 36s to 43s ; light, 20s to 21s 6d ; prime heavy wethers, 19s 8d ; good wethers, 16s 9d; prime heavy owes, los 3d to los 9d; lighter, 13s to 13s (id ; prime lambs, 12s 2d to 12s 7d; plain, 10s 3d.
MASTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs James Macintosh and Co. report as follows on their Masterton stock sale, held in the- Waipoua yards yesterday:—We offered a small yarding of sheep, but a good yarding of cattle. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was keen. Wo are pleased to report practically a clearance, at the following prices:— Fat ewes, 12s 3d to 12s lOd; fat wethers, Us 6d; 2-tooth empty owes, 13s 6d ; woolly lambs, Ss 3d ; small 2-tooth ewes, in lamb, lis; f.m. ewes in lamb, 7s id to 8s 4d. Cattle: On account of Mr James Cameron, of Rewarowa: 4-year old steers, £7 17s; 3 amd 4-year "old .steers, £6 10s; 3-year steers, £5; 2-year old heifers, in calf, £4 ; 18-months empty 'heifers, £3 os ; cows in calf, £4; weaners, £2 ss. On account of other vendors, springing cows, £3 15s to £4 12s; empty cows £3 5s to £4.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—We •had a good yarding of both sheep , ond cattle. There was a large attendance of ibuyers, -and Welding was spirited throughout the sale. With the exception of one line we sold everything under the hammer. Good woolly lambs brought from 10s 3d to lis 2d, shorn lambs 7s 9d to 8s 9d; 2tooth wetlhers, to 14s lid; forward empty ewes, 8s 9d to Us; backward empty ewes, Gs 7d to 9s 6d; ewes in | lamb, to 10s; 3-year old steers, £5 i 7s 8d to £5 12s; 2£-year steers, £3 ] 18s to £4 18s; cows in calf, £7 10s to ] £7 12s Gd; fat cows, £5; store cows, I £3 16s to £3 19s; bulls, £3 3s to £4 1 4s.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows-: —A fair yarding of stock was? offered to a large attendance of buyers. All lines of sheep met with a ready sale, and wo had a total clearance at auction. The ibulk of our cattle entry consisted of grown bullocks, and prices throughout were rather in favour of buyers. Following is a list of prices realised :—Aged ewes 6s 6d to 7s lldffi medium lambs, 8s to 9s Id; ewes in lamb, lis Id to lis 3d; small wethers, 12s; 2-tooth wethers, lis Bd. Wea.ners, 28s to 355; store cows, £2 15s to £3 15s; cows with calves, £4 Is; cmv-s in calf, to £5 ; rough steers, £4 2s; steers, £4 18s to £5 Is; 3-year bullocks, £5 7s to £o 13s.
PAHIATUA STOCK SALE. The. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report a,s follows: —Wo had a good yarding of sheep and cattle, .whioli met with keen competition, sheep especially showing an upward tendency. There was a fair representative attendance of farmers and buyers from Miaisterton and Palmerston North. We have to report a totnl clearance of all stock AvitJi one exception, at the following rates: —Medium lambs, 8s lOd to 9s 7d ; small lambs, 5s to 6s 2d ; aged ewes in lamb, Ss 2d to 13s Id; empty ewes, to 8s lid; spring dalviug heifers, £o 3r. to £5 10s; cows in calf, to £5 10s; bullocks, £6 2s to £6 12s 6d; store cows, £3 14s to £4 12s; wcaners, 23s to 26s ; 2-year steers, £3 10s to £3 153.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: —Wo offered a largo yarding of both sheep and cattle to a good attendance. Sheep were in keeu demand, and there was a sharp rise, vendors' anticipations in most cases being exceeded. A good clearance was made in cattle at late rates. Quotations:—2-tooth wethers, 13s to 13s lid; good ewes in lamb,..lis 3d to 13:: Gd; sound mouth ewes in lamb, 7s 3d to 10s Id; good lambs, 10s to 13s 4d; medium lambs, 7s 6d to 8s 10d; empty ewes, 10s 5d to l£s 9d; 3i-yea,r steers, £6-3s Gd; 24-year and 3-year steers, £5 10s to £5 12s 6d; yearling steers, £3; forward empty cows, £1 3.: Gd to £4 10s; store cows, £2 to £2 12s; dairy cows, £5 10s to £7 2s Gd; mixed weaners, 28s to £2 Is.
