INSPECTOR O'BRIENS CASE (By Telegraph — Press Association.) WELLINGTON,.Laat, Night An echo of the sudden disappearance of Superintendent. O'Brien, of tr.e Wellington Fire Brigade, was heard in the Magistrate's Court to-day, wher; his wife applied for separation, main teuance, and guardianship orders. T.ho plaintiff stated that her husband had been receiving £3GS salary p;r annum. Until recently ho allowed he.' £l2 10s monthly to •maintain herself and daughter. The last payment due was about a fortnight in arrear. She last heard from him about May 4Mi. when s.he received a. note from him saying, "Prepare for a shock I" She had been tokl that he was last on the Aorangi, prior to that vessel's departure for San Francisco. It is he lioved there is another woman ii- the ease. The Court made an order for £2 10s weekly for the support of plaintiff and child, and £5 for past maintenance.
