A yea>r or two back a poll .was taken, on. at .propositi' to extend the systenif, hut 'this .was defeated. Ait that time, however, Miulsl'erton' was just re-covorinig from a commercial depression, and niainy who favoured the proposal voted TVg'f.ir.is,fe it because they could not had ithe lumip sum required to. imake the drainage connection. Under the law as it now stands, the Borough lOouncil' may advance- the money (necessary for making house connections, am.d (spread the -cost, over a' number o.f years. Tihc'ls would relieve the property-holders of any .immediate outlay. The opinion is expressed tin cr.tauy qnartiers that, in rihe interests o'f the health of the. whole cominiumty, the Council should 'again test the feeling of ,the ratepayers upon, the subject.
