(Sussex), F. A. Tarrant- (Middlesex), F. H. Fuislh (Kent), G. J. Thompson (Northnnts), and A. Feilder (Kent). The Englishmen batted first, amd commenced well, the first wicket falling for 108, of which Tarrant made 67. At lunch the score was 102 for 3 •wickets, Tarrant 101, but Tan ant added only three after lunch. Fry and Day rcr.vdo a good stand for tiho fifth wicket, which fell at 240, but tho others did not offer much resistance to Pegler and Hartigan, amd the innings closed for 293.
