The acceptance by the Imperial Postmaster-General, aoting on behalf 'of His Majesty's Government and the of the Dominions, of the terms submitted by the Marconi-, Wireless Telegraph Oomprny, Ltd,, for the construction of all long-dis-tance wireless stations, which wall be required .for the Imperial wireless scheme, marks the first siep,towards the establishment cf th? girdle of w.Yekos stations round the Empire Such a scheme hat, vast, far-reaching potentialities. It has beon advocated for a number of years, but it was not until last year when the Cclon'd 1 Premiers and Mr Herbert Sam i hcclainred the practicability of the i eicheme before the Imperial Conference that iai decisive step was decid- d upon. The a-esuft cf this is now evident in the decision of the Governmenltis concerned to proceed with the construction of the following station* 'forthwith:— London, Egypt, ArV.i, Bangalore "(India.), and Pretoria (South Africa).
